Chardonnay Pairings

Chardonnay

The easiest trick for Chardonnay food pairing:
-Unoaked Chardonnay pairs with whatever you would squeeze a lemon on.
-Oaked Chardonnay pairs with anything you would put butter on.

Unoaked Chardonnay is lean and mineral. Instead of oak, the wine is aged in steel tanks. This style usually gives crisp and dry light-bodied white wines, with characteristic flavors of citrus, minerality, pear, apple and salinity. Its acidity is usually medium-high.

Oaked Chardonnay is a full-bodied white wine with lots of delicious flavors of butter, coconut, vanilla, and toast. The vanilla and toast notes complement anything grilled, while the buttery flavors are perfect with dishes containing butter, such as Popcorn, Egg Dishes, Escargot, Lobster, and anything in a Cream sauce or cheese sauce, like Mac and Cheese. In addition, Chardonnay has plenty of refreshing flavors of apple, lemon, peach, and pineapple that add a little zest to the meal.
