National Tasting Project

What is the National Tasting Project?

The National Tasting Project helps American Wine Society members from multiple chapters learn about and taste the same wines and compare their scores using the American Wine Society Wine Evaluation format.

The National Tasting Project (NTP) was started in 1990 by Pam Davey and friends. Its mission was to help calibrate members’ scores with the American Wine Society Judges. The first wines tasted were California Merlots. The program changed over the years and recently included many diverse regions such as Paso Robles (Rhone Rangers), Illyria, Portugal, Sicily and Southern Rhone.
